bike

Beginning this school year, the Murrieta Valley Unified School District—in partnership with the City Council, Murrieta Police Department (MPD), and the Riverside County Sheriff's Department is implementing new safety expectations for students who ride e-bikes or e-scooters to school.

What Families Need to Do

In order to receive a parking permit and ride their e-transportation to campus, students must:

Key Safety Expectations of Students

  • Wear a helmet at all times when riding their e-bike/e-scooter

  • Walk bikes/scooters once on school grounds and sidewalks

  • Only one rider per e-bike/e-scooter (no passengers)

  • Park e-bikes/e-scooters in bike rack or designated area

  • No “wheelies”

  • Obey all traffic laws and signals

  • Yield to pedestrians and school traffic

Important: E-Transportation riding is a privilege, and permits may be revoked if expectations are not followed.

Our Commitment

These expectations are in place to:

  • Increase student safety

  • Prevent accidents and injuries

  • Promote responsible riding habits
